QUICK LINKS The Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LA BEOC) supports the coordination of activities and resources of businesses and volunteer organizations in Louisiana and across the nation to improve response and self-sufficiency, reduce reliance on FEMA and other federal assistance in order to maximize business, industry and economic stabilization, returning the business environment to normal operations as quickly as possible. 232-HELP/211 was established in 1965 as a comprehensive information and referral (I&R) center serving the Acadiana Region of Southwest Louisiana. The agency is a member of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems, Inc. (AIRS), an international professional association of information and referral providers. 232-HELP/211 was activated by the Governor's office to answer questions from the public regarding the Spring Flood of 2011. 232-HELP/211 is committed to helping individuals, families and communities identify, understand and effectively use all available resources; and to strengthening their capacity for self-reliance and self determination through education, affirmation, advocacy, collaborative planning and problem solving.
