Acadiana's location, diversity, and resources are some of the attributes that make this region so desirable.  Acadiana is a 4,343 square mile region strategically located along the Louisiana Gulf Coast at the intersection of major waterways, cross-country rail, interstates, highways, and the nation's major natural gas and telecommunications pipelines.  The Acadiana region is comprised of the six parishes (counties) of Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion.

Over the next several pages, you will see some of the statistics of the region, including population, income and spending patterns, and workforce statistics.  Unless otherwise stated, demographic data was compiled by Claritas, Inc. - all rights reserved.
